Founded in 1997, Mocha Beans has grown from strength to strength, becoming the largest independent coffee chain in the West of Ireland and have served over 7.5 million customers since day one. Their coffee has won the prestigious Blas Na H'Eireann award three times over the past eight years, and their brand stands uniquely for being the only coffee roasting house in Ireland.
I was commissioned to take on their website redevelopment, 25th year of business campaign and take ownership with of their digital strategy and online presence with 2 key components – a compelling digital experience on their online customer touchpoints that upheld high visual impact and creativity combined with a fully integrated e-commerce website that utilised user experience best practices, showcasing the brands story and unique product offerings.

Web Design & Development
Crafting a bespoke website and mobile optimised Ecommerce platform
Mocha Beans E-commerce website was transformed into a visually compelling customer touch-point that communicates key brand messages, their roastery story and delivering on high visual impact as requested by the client. A bespoke design provides users with a captivating and refreshing brand experience. I worked on tweaking previous website glitches via code ensuring the platforms coding is as lightweight and responsive as possible, and developed a mobile responsive platform upholding best practices in user experience and interface design.


Click & Collect App Prototype
Developing a Click & Collect app prototype rooted in optimised UX and aesthetic design.
With expertise in mobile design, I created an app prototype for Mocha Beans for their Click and Collect platform. When developing the prototype, I reviewed their current target market and current competitor offerings, created user personas that reflected their customers behaviours and requirements, then identified where frictional componants of a lengthly ordering process could be eliminated to make a mark within its niche and uphold a seamless ordering experience. Through an iterative user-centred design process, I developed the features and layout of the prototype with a custom made UI Style guide alongside other visual design elements to bring it to life.


Branding & Digital Identity Design
Enhancing Mocha Beans online presence through visually compelling content and custom made promotional assets.
I work with independents and local businesses to create both new, and re-imagined brand identities.
Promotional assets delivered to the client included new marketing collateral development, new anniversary logo designs, advertisement promotional assets, digital graphics development, plus new product packaging for their coffee bags. I strived to encompass the essence and heritage of the brand thoughout all of my deliverables, to achieve a distinctive brand identity that speaks for itself.


UX/UI Audit
Website and Mobile UXUI Auditing to increase traffic to Mocha Beans Click & Collect Platform.
I performed a heuristic evaluation, inspected usability guidelines, and revised on the latest user interface best practices evaluate their previous platforms’ digital touch-points. This followed an identification procedure of frictional user experience components and an overview of UXUI issues according to their level of severity. This analysis informed my website re-development process on how I could optimise their website to improve it’s digital performance and increase traffic to their Click & Collect Platform.


Digital Strategy & Implementation Plan
Developing a comprehensive digital strategy to propel the brands digital identity.
I prepared a comprehensive digital strategy proposal and implementation plan prior to their 25th Anniversary Campaign launch. I started by understanding the client's project requirements with a 1:1 consultation. This included generation of engaging graphically-designed promotional multimedia assets for key marketing channels before campaign commencement, aswell as managing a creative production strategy aligned with business objectives, messages, audiences, and priorities across online platforms to drive deeper engagement, improve the audience experience, and increase brand favorability and trust.
